Laura Lott Valenti
Laura Lott Valenti is a Nicholls State University marketing professor, co-founder of WIN NOLA - a women’s networking organization, and a freelance business consultant. She focuses her energy on enriching lives, fulfilling dreams and securing futures. Most recently, one of Laura’s students inspired her to start writing a book on personal selling, aimed at motivating, inspiring and teaching others to sell themselves; she has dedicated a chapter to him: “You Are My Carlos,” which is an inspirational section dedicated to pushing young adults to be their personal best. Laura’s passion is helping young adults via education, even assisting the Jefferson Chamber Foundation Academy during summer break.
In her background, Laura has served as the Franchise Marketing Manager and Website Director for Planet Beach Franchising Corporation World Headquarters, has directed the Louisiana recruiting efforts for Northwestern Mutual, a Fortune 115 company, and has been an entrepreneur, having owned a women’s clothing boutique (Briosa). She is most proud of her academic accomplishments, earning her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Master’s degree in Business Administration, with a focus on international business - both from the University of New Orleans. Laura enjoys traveling and checking off items from her bucket list with her husband, Richard, whom she met through match.com. She says it is the best $59.99 she has ever spent! They enjoy traveling the world, and training their puppy, Ellie Mae Clampet.
Education, breast and cervical cancer awareness are Laura's chosen platforms, though she also donates to Kiva and Heifer - two organizations that help support third world countries in need of business funding for entrepreneurs and reducing poverty, respectively. She also volunteers with the Louisiana Chapter of Cystic Fibrosis, the United Way for Greater New Orleans, the Sierra Club, and is an alumnus for her college fraternity, Zeta Tau Alpha. She is a member of the Youth Leadership Council of New Orleans and the 4 A’s, and networks with the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce and Business Networking International groups. Proud to represent her native state of Louisiana, Laura is grateful for the opportunity to share her motivational message with others to “build a dream, and the dream will build you!”
